Job Title: Field Installation Technician
Location: Cleveland, OH
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation of large industrial equipment at customer sites throughout North America.
- Perform mechanical skills including; mechanical, electrical (basic wiring connections), pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and investigating problems, conducting tests, commissioning and training.
- Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, recommending system improvements, confidentiality.
- Conduct training on the safe operation and use of the equipment and systems installed.
- Full and Extensive Training Provided. Hands-On training by accompanying senior technicians on installations, participating in lab demonstrations while in the local office, attending vendor and supplier training sessions and classes, and participating in other educational opportunities when offered.
- Preventative Maintenance Visits – Assist in establishing a Preventative Maintenance Program for customers.
- Follow Procedures and paperwork for all Installation, Service and Warranty work. Properly and timely documentation of service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Assess and diagnose customer problems.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Dependable, good at managing projects.
- Good mechanical skills. Understand how to use basic tools, read measuring tapes (Imperial and Metric), familiar with machinery assembly, leveling, and mechanical adjustments.
- Good verbal skills and familiarity with email.
- Basic electrical understanding.
- Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools and electric meters.
- Ability to work independently to complete installation or the assigned job.
- Electrical controls and programming.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (also handle 70 lbs. Tool Kit)
- Ability to stand on a 6 foot Ladder to perform work overhead
- Ability to Sit on a stool for extended periods of time (wiring control panels)
- Crawl under machines, work on your back periodically (changing cross bars, belts, leveling).
- Ability to work in uncomfortable plant conditions (hot in the summer, cool in the winter)
- Ability to work around and come in contact with chemicals of all types – including hazardous (proper PPE would be provided upon request)
- Work in machinery environment with loud machinery (ear protection provided)
TRAVEL
- Travel (50-75%) – Typical Installs run 7-14 days (requiring 1-2 weekends out per month).
- Most travel is by air + car to customer’s site.
- Company pays all work-related travel expenses and per diem for meals.
- Ability to travel outside of the US.
