The Past and Future of Wired Network Technology

    By Anistar Technologies | Candidates, Employers, Technology | Comments are Closed | 1 January, 2019 | 3

Wired network technology has been around for more than a century. It’s widely regarded and believed that the invention of the telephone in 1876 began communications over a wired network, and it has slowly evolved since then. Now it has gotten to the point where researchers and experts are constantly looking for ways to increase speeds for data transmission.

One of the biggest questions revolving around wired network technology is how it’s going to survive with the rise in wireless technology. While it’s evident wireless technology has taken major leaps and has essentially become the norm today, there will certainly always be a place for wired networks.

What Past Wired Networks Looked Like

Since the telephone was invented in the late 1800’s, wired network technology slowly made advancements starting in the late 1900’s. Optical fiber was introduced to wired network communications in the 1960’s, which is believed to have been the time when significant changes started occurring. Ethernet technology followed about a decade later, then the emergence of DSL technology a decade after that. It wasn’t until the year 2000 when broadband technology made its introduction and developments have been incredibly rapid since that point.

What The Future Holds For Wired Technology

The evolution of wired technology in the past 100 years has given us an idea of where it could be headed for the next 100 years. While many individuals and companies still operate solely off of wired technology, most of them have a combination of wired and wireless technology. The combination of these technologies has led to an increase in demand for DAS technicians. The role of DAS technicians is to integrate wired and wireless technologies seamlessly in order to create the most secure, effective and functional network as possible.

    Wired Technology Will Continue Evolving

People with IT networking jobs are instrumental in determining how wired network technology will continue evolving over the next several decades. Consumer demand is always going to change, so advancements in technology will be required to keep up with it. By looking at how wired technology has evolved up to this point, where we currently stand and where we could be headed, DAS technicians and other experts are tasked with ensuring future advances will be sufficient to meet the demand for years to come.

Anistar Technologies prides itself on helping technical professionals find jobs that suit their specific skill sets. There will always be a demand for skilled IT professionals, and companies all have different needs. Our network of employers is extensive, and our candidate pool is even larger. Whichever side you’re on, give us a call and see how we can find the right fit and help improve the future of our wired network technology.
