Position Summary: Anistar is seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technicians for several contract to perm opportunities. Candidates will provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing/trouble shooting on all aspects of low voltage fire alarm systems. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will under general supervision, maintain a highly analytical and problem solving mindset while working as a team player and must have experience with the following:
Must have 5+ years of experience with full life cycle installation of various Fire Alarm devices and systems associated with the fire safety industry. Experience with regard to retail environments preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts.
- Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics.
- Ensure all work complies with current codes and regulations.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that fire alarm systems are in compliance with electrical and fire codes.
- Tests to ensure all newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
Must possess:
- A valid driver’s license
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time
- NICET certification preferred
