Job Overview:

A bachelor’s degree in an engineering/science discipline from an accredited college/university and 2+ years of experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting RF and/or IP network solutions.
-
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL, Linux, VMware, HyperV.
-
Proficiency with network test equipment and protocols (IP network analyzers, SSH, FTP, Cisco and Linux command line prompts, etc.) desired.

Strong skills using software such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check and routine drug test.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Ability to travel – Up to 60% of domestic travel to satisfy project and customer needs.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to nontechnical audiences are essential.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
-
Five years experience with one or more of the five manufacturers’ solutions: L3Harris, Tait, Kenwood, EF Johnson or Motorola.
• Strong understanding of RF system design principles to include trunked, conventional and analog radio solutions.
• Strong understanding of microwave and backhaul principles.
• Self-motivated and focused individual with a passion for technology and an aptitude for customer satisfaction.
• Team player able to drive collaborative decision making across diverse personality types.
• Skilled at managing multiple priorities and tasks, with high attention to detail.
• Domestic travel – Up to 35%.
• Effective communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of IP networks.
• Working understanding of Information Assurance requirements as it relates to LMR systems is desirable.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Visio)DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Certifications through Cisco, CompTIA, Juniper, Nokia or similar.

Previous knowledge and experience working with Cisco, Aviat, Nokia, MNI, L3Harris, Motorola, Tait, Kenwood.

Experience deploying and troubleshooting digital voice communication systems.

Experience/knowledge of radio communication systems, RF, microwave, fiber optics

Physical Demands

The employee must have the ability, visual acuity and manual aptitude to recognize and accurately install components according to product specification. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear, will sometimes need to bend down, crawl, and/or kneel to reach product components. The employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, sit, handle small components, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
Job Requirements:
This includes support of system staging, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting as well as preparing and updating system documentation. These radio systems involve APCO Project 25 communications systems, and vendor equipment, and typically include RF base station & repeater equipment, microwave links, IP networks, wireless data, RF antenna subsystems, 911 dispatch, interoperability, and/or other custom subsystems.
This is a critical role that requires team members to work onsite at customer locations and interact directly with customers as well as with our project managers, service technicians, and installation crews. To succeed, candidates will need to be dependable, customer service oriented, total team players, professional in appearance, and good at communicating (both in writing and verbally.)
