How to Know What Your Company Needs in its Next Hire

By Anistar Technologies | Careers, Contractors, Employers, Hiring | Comments are Closed | 2 November, 2017 | 1

When it comes to staffing your team, there are endless options. Do you hire a full-time employee, a contractor or something in between? Anistar, like many specialized recruiting firms, offers several staffing options and resources for helping your business grow. Let’s discuss your options and how to know what’s right for your company.

Direct hire

The first type of placement is the direct hire. This role allows our clients to bring on the candidate as a full-time employee from day one. Direct hire is available for companies with very specific and time-sensitive needs. Clients will often bring on direct hires when they have a large job come up that requires a full-time employee onsite for a specific and ongoing project.

This scenario works well for clients that don’t have the recruiting resources or time for the search and interview process. Clients also look to recruiting agencies when offers have been rejected or candidates have fallen through and they need a company like Anistar to assist in filling a role quickly.

Contractors

This placement is great for candidates who want to be working in a certain location or working on a specific job site where they can gain additional skills to continue to grow in their industry. We see candidates who prefer contracting when they want to work at specific times of the year or when it is convenient for them to move around. They have a lot of say in how much work they do and can easily hope from job-to-job to fill their income needs while taking scheduled time off or traveling.

A client typically requests a contractor to assist on a certain project or set of projects when they don’t have their permanent manpower set in place to meet deadlines or close out a job. Contractors can start quickly, having already been vetted by the recruiting firm and know ahead of time when the job will end.

Contract-to-hire

Some clients are ready to make a direct hire but want to vet the candidate first. We call this a contract-to-hire and this scenario works best when a client has a project or set of projects to complete and can use that time to see if a candidate is someone they want to bring on as a full-time employee. They are able to test a candidate’s skills, work ethic and fit within the company. We often call this a “try before you buy” placement where the candidate and client see if it’s a mutually beneficial fit. This gives power to both the contractor and the company, as both can end the contract and not continue working together if it is not a good fit.

An ever-growing industry

The low voltage/infrastructure industry is rapidly growing and there is a big need for candidates for all three placement types. Anistar assists in providing manpower to new construction, retrofit, and preexisting location upgrades. With data and distribution centers becoming more necessary for the growth of the United States, specialized recruiting firms provide staffing options to keep companies running smoothly.
